This past week or so has made me wishing for autumn to come! With the rain, wind and seeing the beginnings of the leaves falling I'm looking forward to cosy nights with blankets and hot chocolate. The chilly mornings that flush your cheeks. The ever lasting wind and rain pattering late at night on the window. Kicking the coloured leaves while walking through the park. I'm ready!
This past month I've definitely been listening to more 'alternative' music compared to last month! A few of the ones on this playlist I came across on Sincerely, Kinsey's blog. I've also started adding to a playlist on YouTube that you can listen to here. It's full of many of the songs that have been featured on these playlist posts, plus songs that I've been currently getting into! Enjoy.
What have you been listening to this month?
A couple of weeks ago I shared a Creative Update in the form of a blog tag. Since posting this and reading other peoples answers I've been thinking about what I wrote in the section 'What am I working on?'. Other than the few things I mentioned in that post I didn't really include any details about them and didn't share any pictures. This in mind I thought I would do that today!
On my Sunday Summary post this week I had mentioned that Darren and I had taken a trip to Dunnottar Castle and then later went out with a friend to take some pictures. I've enjoyed sharing photos of day trips, holidays and other things in the past and I felt I would continue with Sunday!
A few weeks ago I shared this post about how I wanted to travel the world. After reading Caitlin's post about places she would like to visit, it rekindled this idea and I thought I would share the places I would love to visit too.

The first on my list is Australia. Australia has been on my 'travel to' list since I can remember! I would love to travel there and go out in the outbacks and see all the wild animals that live there but also experience the city life. // Italy is another on my list that I would just love to travel to, especially Rome. It is full of culture and history that I just want to explore. // Amsterdam has long been a place I've been interested in but not one I've ever been bothered about visiting. That was until my parents went last year and seeing Robyn's Amsterdam holiday pictures. // Finally, New York! With seeing so many tv shows based in New York it would be amazing to experience it myself.
Where do you want to travel?
CautiouslyObsessed Cristina has such a lovely instagram filled with pictures of items mixing with hand drawn media. She also has a lovely blog too. |
These past few weeks I'm being really bad at uploading these on the Sunday- whoops! Although, last night I do have a proper reason as I wasn't really home. Sarah asked if I fancied going out with our cameras to catch the sunset and stuff, so by the time she had gone home it was almost 11!
Recently, the debate of whether print is or isn't dead seems to be taking centre stage. I've been considering writing on this topic for a while now but after reading GraphiqueFantastique post about her recent trip to the People of Print magazine launch: Print Isn't Dead, I thought now would be a perfect time to.
Everybody seems to be taking to instagram nowadays to share their pictures, with some throwing the boat out further and sharing inspiration ones. Today I felt I would share some of my favourite inspirational instagrams!
HeySP Sarah is a San Fransisco based photographer, artist, designer and brilliant crafter. Her instagram is full of mind blowing photos that make you think "Why didn't I do that?" and will make you want to get your crafty bits out and have some fun. |

Back at the end of June I shared this post about how I was hoping to give my room a little bit of a face life during the Summer months. Over the past few months, I haven't exactly done as much as I would have liked in the sense of cleaning things out. But it's still been in the back of my mind as to how I would ideally like my room to look when it is once finished.
Floating House Series - Laurent Chehere Laurent's collection of floating house series are remarkable. They are very beautiful and some even feel like it has been taken straight out of the film 'Up'. |

Papercuts by Maude White Amazing and intricate paper cuts all done by hand. After looking at many paper cuts a few months back as part of my College Work, this is probably the most outstanding and mind-blowing ones I have seen. |
Abandoned Auditorium on The Dainty Squid I always love look through Kaylah's antics and seeing her adventures into abandoned buildings. What makes it that much more special is when there is a really sweet story behind it. |
Paris In Four Months I stumbled across this instagram because of the blog A Little Opulent and all the pictures on the feed are really beautiful. |
A few weeks ago I shared a post called "For the love of snail mail", within this post I talked about how I was wanting to send more out and said if people were interested to start up a little chain. After that post and receiving a lot of lovely post this week I thought I would continue doing little up dates with all my snail mail.
Last month I shared a collection of things that I hoped I would manage before my 20th birthday. If you follow me on social networking sites you would have already seen that I've managed to score one of these items of this week with finally passing my driving test!
A very old photo from last year but it's pretty so I'm sharing! |
A few weeks ago I was tagged by the lovely Claire over at Little Bohemian Butterfly to fill out this little questionnaire for the creatives! As one who always enjoys filling out tags, I had feared that when I filled out this once it would be pretty boring, but bear with me!
Rune Guneriussen Gunerissuen was featured over on the brit&co blog last week and his installations are incredible! He uses a mixture of everyday objects including books and lights and creates surreal displays and then photographs them. |
Ani Castillo Another artist I came across this week who's work I have fallen in love with! |

Rachel Ryle Short Animations Ryle hand illustrates and uses instagrams video function to the best of her advantages. Her videos are adorable and so much effort has been put into creating them! |
OhComely! Magazine on Instagram I'm already a huge fan of the magazine but only found out they had an Instagram this week. All the photos they have on their are so beautiful and refreshing. Even if you're not a fan of the magazine I bet you'll be a fan of their Instagram! |
Once again this post is a little late. When I got home last night I kind of forgot and had some other stuff to do/sort out before going to bed. Throughout this past week though, I have felt that I have just spent my days on the train. Everyday this week I have taken at least once.
The majority of the week was pretty laid back with spending Monday/Tuesday/Friday with Darren and going to Dundee on Thursday with mum. The rest of the week has really been spent working away.
On terms of working, don't you really just hate some customers you get? There is certainly a lot of people out there who seem to lose their manners when in shops. It absolutely gets on my nerves when customers do thing likes try get in front of a customers who has just finished paying/packing their shopping, completely blank you and act total snarky with you- you may actually have a bag, don't act like I'm being a crazy person!
How has your week been?
1. Yummy tropical cooler // 2. Such a beautiful night! // 3. Away to go assassination spree! // 4. Had a great day in Dundee with mum today. |
5. Got a new mug today. // 6. So I did a little thing last night… // 7.Away to watch The Lego Movie with Darren |
This week I have to say I have been struggling and finding it hard to think about what to write about. After watching Alli Speed's recent video of her Contiki trip, I thought I would just write a little about something that I really want to do- travel!
Catch up on reading
This has to be one of my main things to do while travelling but it is broken down into three parts which are: books, magazines/newspapers and blogs. As of recently, I've definitely got through the majority of a book during my travel time. Doing this means I always have a little bit of time every few days to spend reading if I can't fit it in at home. Magazines tend to follow the same idea as books. However, before I properly read one I quickly flick through it seeing which articles will be most interesting to me, train times are perfect for this as it means I won't really get fully into a story. Now my favourite one, blog reading. If you already use bloglovin you will know it's a great device to use for catching up on the blogs you love. Instead of having to scroll through all the posts uploaded that day -which can sometimes be up to 200 posts- during my travel time I can leave the ones I want to read and comment on when I'm back home.
Plan
If you are like me and you like to have a general plan in place then travel times can be perfect for it. You can plan things from what you have to do that day to what your going to post/photograph for your blog. Usually with these I will note these down in a notebook and try plan when it's best to do certain things.
Play a game
Whether it's playing Candy Crush, 2048, DOTS or whatever new crazed game is out at that particular moment you can use your time playing these. While this might not be the most productive thing on this list, nothing feels better than completing that level you have been stuck on for ages or getting a new high score!
Get creative
Obviously you can't do a full on watercolour painting on a train but what you can do is some quick sketches to get your juices flowing, work on that idea you've had in your sketchbook for weeks or even just do some colouring in. During my initial sketching stages at college, I used to pull my sketchbook out on the train to get those lightbulb moments down onto paper. Or you could do what I did yesterday on the train and take your camera with you. The route my train takes is absolutely beautiful with passing several different fields, cliffs and woodland areas. You can just look at my Instagram and see this.
What do you like using your travel time for?

Also, if you haven't already noticed, this week I've updated my blog design a little by adding an About and Contact pages. I also changed my header but this is just a change for a little while, I shall get round to making one for myself at some point!

Welcome to my first monthly favourites! I've hmmed and hummed about doing one of these before but just never decided to go with it. But this month I've gone for it. It's so crazy how quickly July has gone though, don't you think?
Black mini Satchel // I have a larger blue on already that I got for my birthday but for going out to Derren Brown earlier last month I needed a black one. With Primark having these for like £8 it was unlikely I wouldn't pick one up!
Dream Catcher Bracelet // This was one of my little souvenirs from Edinburgh. Even though the threading has came slightly undone I still love it. Plus I can carry a dream catcher wherever I go!
Striped Lace Top // Last week while shopping with my mum I spotted this little beaut in Debenhams. It is one of my favourite tops at the moment and it is so soft and comfortable to wear even in the warm weather the UK seems to be having at the moment!
Owl Mug // After chipping my large stripey one I was on the hunt for a new one. After going into exchange a few tops in BHS I spotted this little fellow and it is honestly my favourite thing to drink tea out of now.
Origins Spot Treatment // My absolute favourite beauty buy this month. With using it the past few weeks I have seen a remarkable difference in my skin. Any spots I do get seem to clear up a lot better than before.
Paperchase Treat Me // So it turns out one of my favourite shops in the whole world has decided to trial out a reward card! I absolutely love Paperchase and there was no chance I wouldn't have been singing up for this. With the great treats you get with it I can't wait to start using it.
Cameras // This month I've been mixing in using three different cameras- especially while I was away. I've been loving my Instax the most though as waiting for the result of it while it develops is so exciting. Although I still have to get my disposables developed!
What have been your favourite things this month?
Dear August. July has been absolutely crazy! So much has happened from Darren and I having a trip to Edinburgh, which resulted in our engagement to other bits and bobs. I've not exactly done as much as I have wanted to this past month but I've started working on things that I hope I will push myself to do more off.
