Disclaimer

Having been blogging for a while now, it sometimes means I get involved with brands to create content. I believe in being honest about the people I work with and never work with someone or something I don't honestly believe in/enjoy. But I will be open and transparent about any collaborations at all times.

Here’s a quick rundown of the terms you may see on this blog in relation to brand partnerships as of February 2019.
  • AD/Sponsored Post – if I have been paid to produce content on my blog or social media channels this will be clearly labelled with the term AD (short for advertisement). If it’s a blog post, I’ll use the term AD in the title and open the post with a quick sentence explaining the relationship.
  • Gifted – if I have been sent a product or been given an experience (like a hotel stay or a meal) this will be explained at the start of the post. Posts written before February 2019 may have this disclaimer at the end of the post, but I’m working my way through previous content to update this for the sake of transparency.
  • Affiliate Links – these links allow me to earn a small commission from any sales that are made through links in my content. They don’t cost any more than it would cost you to go to the brand directly, and I only make around 5-12% from each purchase, which helps me cover the costs associated with my blog. If an affiliate link has been used, it will be clearly identified with the term affiliate link. Some widgets may also use affiliate links.
  • Previous relationships – the Competition and Markets Authority want bloggers to make it clear if they have had any sort of relationship with a brand within the last 12 months. As of February 2019 I will explain any previous relationships that may exist, even if the product I’m talking about has been bought with my own money.
With the rules ever changing about disclosure, declarations and regulations it can be mind boggling! So if there is ever a point where something isn't clear or you are sure, please get in touch to let me know.
