This weeks been a bit hectic. On Monday, Clare and I went across to Make and signed up for their membership to use their equipment! We both had a shot on the laser printer. Tuesday, I had my Gray's interview and ended the day with some milk. On Wednesday it was freezing, so I decided to try Costa's new Belgian Hot Chocolate. Thursday before work I met a friend and had a lovely lunch at Books and Beans. Friday meant that the International Market was back in town and I was able to get poffertjes!!! At the weekend, I made some Pain au Chocolat. Today I painted my nails before going out for lunch. My mum also found this really lovely drawing and handwriting done by me for a mother's day when I was younger. I also have been working my butt of all afternoon doing my college stuff!

This week on OhHay!

So last week I was tagged by the lovely Megan from Lazy Thoughts here, to fill out the 'Whole lot of questions tag', so this post has my answers and nominations!

Another week has begun meaning more obsessive pinteresting! But don't expect too much of the unusual- it's all the standard things again!

This week hasn't been very overly exciting- just quite laid back. On Monday, I came home to a naked bed so decided to put my favourite sheets on! Hello mint, purple and brown chevrons! Tuesday, Clare and I made a bit of a mess while experimenting with paper, gluing stuff, cutting magazines and painting or sketches. I also had my second mentoring session which went well again! Wednesday was a bit of an uneventful day apart from catching up with a class mate from last year. On Thursday after work I decided to nip into the newly opened British Red Cross Shop and spotted these soap and glory gloves and snapped them up! After going out with Avon, me and mum drove to Aunty Betty's and got some ice cream. They finally have my favourite flavour back in stock so yes, I've been eating lots of ice cream! Friday Night started Darren and I's kind of movie weekend by watching The Great Gatsby, after this we watched The Purge- sooo creepy! On Saturday after taking a walk down the road, Darren, I and my mum went to the garden center. I tried the lemonade from Fentimans- can't say I liked it too much though. We then spent the night eating Chinese food and watch The Hunger Games! Today after working through the Aberdeen Trophy Celebratory Parade I've been working like mad on Uni/College stuff but after the #lbloggers chat I reached 100 followers!! What a great way to start the week of??

Over the past week, I've been doing even more researching and sketching for my Graded Unit! I've also been making a ton more models for my experimentation. 

Throughout all my research this week I've been looking into several different areas. I've picked up some more leaflets/flyers and put them in. I've also put in nice examples of posters that I found on Pinterest. From looking through several different magazines on Tuesday I also found some really nice examples of paper art. In these magazines I also found some good examples of illustrations and patterns that I felt might help inspire some of the designs I create. 

On Wednesday, I spent the morning sketching out different logo/branding ideas for it. I'm not 100% on the angle yet for this but it shall come in time! 

That's really all my updates from this past week apart from the little visit me and Clare took to Make Aberdeen. We're going to sign up as members next week so we can have a little shot on their machines and then possibly use them in our final designs!

Over the past few weeks I've been popping into lot's of charity shops and been to a car boot sale. From these little ventures I've picked up a few bits and bobs that I'd thought I'd share!

 So I realise I've said that I'm on a book buying ban! However, this does not include books from charity shops, car boot sales, etc! And that's where I picked these up. The top two I bought with a deal with the DVD below at a charity shop. And then The Lonely Bones I picked up as part of a raising money for charity from my work. I've never read the book but I've seen the film so thought it would be worth the read!

 As I said above, this was part of a 3 for 2 deal. I also picked it up because I've literally never seen this film before! I realise this is probably really surprising and people will be like 'OhMYGod!' but I have to admit I'm not one for really watching films. I also picked this up because of Jason Segel. I love him in 5 Yars Engagement and How I Met Your Mother, so felt this would be just as good!

 I picked the gloves up literally yesterday and they are brand new! Still had the tag on and everything. I've not tried too many soap and glory products-sorry beauty community-so thought that it would be worth picking this deal up! The top my mum actually picked up for me and it's so cute! I don't usually wear this type of colour but its too irresistible and adorable not to keep! 

I never really do these kind of posts but I always enjoy writing them! I felt this would be a great way to speak about my reading journey so far. I read about this tag through a blog I was reading from Sunday's #lbloggers chat. I felt it would be really interesting to do!

Where do you usually read? 

I normally just read in my bed as it's the easiest place to. But I have been reading on the train more as of late and I also do love reading on a sun bed on holiday! Nothing more relaxing than that. 

Do you prefer to read one book at a time or several at once? 

I've never really tried reading several at once apart from in English back when I was in school. However, I don't think I could do it as I'm bad picking up all the information on a single read so I would be easily mixed up if I read more than once. 

What is your favourite genre? 

The type of genre I generally pick up is mystical/fantasy books but I am always look for something with a bit more 'heartfelt' reactions in it!

Is there a genre you will not read? 

I would never rule of a book because of it's genre. I would be more likely to put it of because I don't like the sound of the story. 

Do you have a favourite book? 

When people normally ask me this I do try and come up with an answer, whether this is John Green's, Looking For Alaska, or something else. But truth be told, I don't really have one! I've read soo many books but I've never really gone back and reread any. Something I really need to do!

What is the longest book you have ever read? 

Ummm.... I can't remember the name of the longest book I've read but I think it would be around the 500 page mark. 

What was the last book you bought? 

Officially the last books I bought were The Snow Child and The Secret Garden. However, to get around my book buying ban, I've told Darren that I don't rule out any that are gift given! So I've received a fair few from him recently. 

Do you prefer library books or buying books? 

I've not been to the library in years! But I used to go a lot. I really should go to the library more though- save myself some pennies! But I do love having my own copy of the book, especially if it's one I end up loving too!

As last week I shared a few of my pins from my Graded Unit, I felt that this would I would share my favourites from the past few weeks. Predictably, I've been pinning lot's of studio spaces, art and stationery with a heap load of mint thrown in too!

The week kicked off with an excessive amount of pinning, cutting, typing and gluing for getting things sorted for my first mentoring session! My first session was on Tuesday and went well (or so I am led to believe) and I mainly just need to finish of my research. On Wednesday I continued a little research into paper engineering by making origami swans and trying my hand at hand paper cutting intricate designs. I also got my first lemonade of the season as this week has been gorgeous weather! On Thursday night everybody was out of the house and I really couldn't be bothered making anything so I ordered Chinese. I also picked up these new socks that I wore on Saturday- so cute!! On Saturday, Darren, his little sister & her friend and I made some truffles. We ran out of chocolate strands so had to use a mixture of white and rainbow coloured ones instead. I also bought a few new things to try from Boots!

This week on OhHay! will feature: week 2 of my Graded Unit and something else haha! 

So as I said earlier in the week in my Pinterest Favourites post that I would be filling you all in on the details of my recent college brief! After having my first mentoring session on Tuesday, I felt that it would be good to share my work so far for it. 

This past week I haven't really been just doing any general pinning as I have been a tiny bit obsessed about my current project at college! So I thought I'd share a few of my initial favourite bits and pieces that have formed my research so far. 

*edit: I almost forgot to mention, for my research into this brief as well, I have created a survey. I have already posted about it on Facebook and Twitter but if you haven't filled out yet it would help if you could. You can fill it out here. 

Happinez Magazine Horoscope by Helen Musselwhite Helen has been my favourite designer to find through this unit so far! All her designs are incredibly brilliant and look amazing. It's a very similar idea to the piece above but it's a lot simpler and I feel it's something I could achieve.

I have also been looking into pop-up books and I really like this idea. However, I'm not sure how easily these type of designs would be as engaging to adults as they are to children.

Beauties Woodland Cottage by Helen Musselwhite Another Helen Musselwhite entry wooo! I love this idea of tunnel art. The colours are shapes work so well. And the use of different colours from foreground to background give a more definitive idea of depth to it.

Origami Bunny Aw how adorable are these little origami bunnies?! I have to admit even though I love origami a lot, I don't feel that it's a route I will be taken to my final solution as I personally feel it's 'overdone'.

This past week has servilely been an emotional roller-coaster. At the beginning of the week we had to present our final e-courses for our Client Presentation Unit and I am really bad doing these types of things in the way we had to present them. I really hate doing these and it didn't help that one part of our 'e-course' didn't work at one point. On Tuesday the day didn't get of to a great start as I failed my driving test with one major and I only had two minors!! But I heard back from Grays later in the day inviting me to an interview so that put me in a better mood. On Wednesday I spotted a copy of Frankie and bought it straight away! On Thursday my work still had the delicious Lily O'Brien's Chocolate and I bought two packets. Friday me and Darren decided to go to Frankie and Benny's for tea but we were extremely disappointed. Usually when we go there the service is good and we don't have a problem with our food. But they ended up getting my order wrong and had the bill added up wrong too. Saturday Darren and I just had a quiet night in after I finished work as I wasn't feeling great. We had Chinese food, watched the first few episodes of the new season of Walking Dead and mum bought ice cream! Today wasn't exactly exciting either as I woke up after having a nose bleed during the night and was feeling rubbish all day.

I had originally decided that I wasn't going to write any in-depth review of this book. This was because of a few reasons. 1. I felt like I would be over loading my blog with books. 2. It's based on quite a 'taboo' subject. However, I changed my mind with these because I want to post what I enjoy and because the book left me with a feeling of being totally and utterly destroyed!
