On Tuesday, my friend, Steph and I decided that we would head along to the Gray School of Art Degree Show to have a nosy at all the work on show this year. I particularly wanted to go along as I was hoping that seeing all the different work would maybe help generate ideas for my show next year whether that's my actual work, or how I set up my area or something else entirely! 

But anyway, we had a look round all the different areas of the degree show which includes; Commercial Photography, Communication Design, Contemporary Art Practice, Fashion & Textile Design, Painting and 3D/Product Design. Although I'm a design student and so should find the Communication Design the most interesting, the two areas that took the crown for me was the Painting and Contemporary Art Practice. These two areas were soooo diverse and left me coming away with so many ideas of things I just want to try out for myself! 

Overall, I really loved seeing all the different work on show and for the first Gray's one I have been to I really need to make sure I get to more of them in the future as it was incredible! Also apologies for no info about who the artist/designer was! In the whole scheme of things I got to excited to take notes of people, so if you know one of them let me know.

On Wednesday I received a voucher in the post from Frankie & Benny's to use in one of their restaurants after a photo of mine had been used on the social media. Since it was a lovely day Darren suggested to have a wander down to the beach/Cadonas in Aberdeen and it would also count as a little birthday treat for me since it's my 20th on Sunday! 

Of course with starting YouTube and also wanting some more stuff for this blog, but yeah also just cause I love taking photos I thought I'd share a post from some of the photos I took while we were there! This post isn't so much like the other Cadonas photo diary I shared last year as a lot of the photos I did take where down on the beach as I love taking naturey photos! Honestly, you see the 'OhHay!' thing made out of shells? Took me a good half an hour/45 minutes to find all the shells/rocks and put it together just to get a photo and video of it! 

But yeah anyway, we just spent the afternoon down on the beach then into the evening we had a few games of pool, mini golf, our tea at F&B's and some shots on the ticket machines! However, it'll be in next weeks vlog so you can see it fully then!

Once again it's been kind of a while since updating this blog. The title of this post is actually quite misleading in all honesty. I'm not really saying anything about where I've been, it's more where my mind has been and what I've been thinking. 

Since having my blogging break a few months ago I've been finding it hard to get back into this. I'm not sure if it's just because I was away from doing it, and doing all the writing and specifically taking pictures of stuff for it and can't get back into the habit. Or if it's because I have so many ideas for posts that I basically feel floored from it. Or if it's just something else entirely. 

What I do know is that I need to have a think about what I want this blog to be. And what I want it to represent. When I started this blog up two years ago it was a place for me to share my design work and some inspiring things and I still want it to be that. But I also want to add my lifestyle stuff in here as well and that mix has been something I have struggled with for a while. 

I've tried planning and noting down ways I can have this mix with schedules or editorial calendars but it never seems to flow or plan the way I like it or want it to be. And from getting bored of continuously posting my Sunday Summary is why I've been needing a change. Obviously I've started over at YouTube with some vlogs just now which is basically a video version of the Sunday Summary which I think I'll enjoy more. But this might be the way I have a more of a design/creativity/lifestyle balance over these platforms.

Throughout Summer I do hope to get back into this blog better and will hopefully be even creating a blog for the Creative Bloggers chat/group. Some of the plans for the CBloggers blog will basically be about the lives of creative people, tips and other things like this so it'll be content I do want to cover but can't find the place for here. 

In the mean time though, I think this blog will be literally a representation of what's going on with me, my head and my life at that moment. I'll try maybe post 3 times a week, once being an 'inspiration' based post, another being something happening in life (kind of extended version of a part of the vlog, so like photo diaries), and then the third and last being current work; so mainly #Create365 and any other projects I get up to! 

Sorry for this post being a bit ranty/rambly I kind of just needed to get this out there for myself. I've also thought of possibly doing a second video each week on YouTube about things like my process, tool kit, some tags etc, so please let me know if you'd like to see this sort of thing?!

For a while I've been wanting to set up my own YouTube Channel. Doing the occasional vlog and maybe some "show and tell" themed videos like favourites, art tools, etc! After starting to watch Charli Marie and then seeing Charlotte set up her YouTube channel a few months ago that thought has been growing and growing. And this past week I bit the dust, and did it! 

So I no have a YouTube channel as well as this blog! I'm going to try and upload something every Tuesday just to start of with so this week I have a vlog from last week with my exhibition and meeting Charlotte. 

But tbh, the main reason I set this up and have decided to vlogs is because for a long time I was doing my Sunday Summary posts but I got very bored of them. Some weeks I didn't take/share pictures and others I had loads of stuff going on so I feel this is a much better way for me to continue the idea of it on.

I have some ideas for future videos for weeks when I don't do a 'vlog' but not sure when they will go live... But for now you can watch my first ever video here.
