I've been pretty busy with this so I haven't really had time to take photos and such of all my work that I've done so far. But as I'm of on holiday now I have been able to get round to doing so. With this edition I'm just sharing all my work that I've done up until this point.
This past week I haven't really been just doing any general pinning as I have been a tiny bit obsessed about my current project at college! So I thought I'd share a few of my initial favourite bits and pieces that have formed my research so far.
*edit: I almost forgot to mention, for my research into this brief as well, I have created a survey. I have already posted about it on Facebook and Twitter but if you haven't filled out yet it would help if you could. You can fill it out here.

I am literally in love with this type of paper crafting! It is so beautiful and it looks simple even though it's not. I already have an idea on how I would use this within my design but I feel like it's going to be really hard...

Paper Dragon by Ink Studio This is just bloody brilliant! You would never believe this is only made from paper and then edited. I feel like this would be a really good idea to work on for my own brief but I need to work out a way that would be fitting.

Happinez Magazine Horoscope by Helen Musselwhite Helen has been my favourite designer to find through this unit so far! All her designs are incredibly brilliant and look amazing. It's a very similar idea to the piece above but it's a lot simpler and I feel it's something I could achieve.

I have also been looking into pop-up books and I really like this idea. However, I'm not sure how easily these type of designs would be as engaging to adults as they are to children.

Beauties Woodland Cottage by Helen Musselwhite Another Helen Musselwhite entry wooo! I love this idea of tunnel art. The colours are shapes work so well. And the use of different colours from foreground to background give a more definitive idea of depth to it.

Origami Bunny Aw how adorable are these little origami bunnies?! I have to admit even though I love origami a lot, I don't feel that it's a route I will be taken to my final solution as I personally feel it's 'overdone'.
That's generally the kind of things I've been obsessing over for my research for my brief. I will be writing a full post on this brief later in the week and I will be sharing my updates weekly throughout it too.
Even though it was the last week at college before the Christmas holidays, I still had quite a busy week with my college work.
Another instalment of my New Media and Web Design briefs! This week has been no so busy as the last but I've still been doing quite a few things this week too!
I haven't done too much this week for my New Media brief as I had a lot of that caught up with at the moment. So I've been developing a lot more stuff for my Web Design brief.
So I'm into week 2 of my New Media & Web Design briefs. And yet again it's been a busy week!
I realise I've still go to write up my final post on Digital Imaging- Calendar but I've still got some stuff that I'm trying to prefect so that I can hopefully start selling it. I will try and write up a blog post about my development and such this week and I can maybe show you the final designs and such that would be up for sale shortly after. But in the mean time you can look at my progress for it on Instagram and for now, I shall be writing up about my next two briefs.
So as the title suggests my next two briefs are to do on New Media and Web Design. These briefs are both separate but I'm doing them both in college at the same time.
After the horrible infographic unit I had to do, we were briefed with the second part of our Digital Imaging unit which is to create and design a calendar.
The next brief I had at college after the App Design, was to design an Infographic. The infographic we had to create had to related to Aberdeen in some sort of way. So we had a heap of freedom with the brief- which to be honest made it a lot harder for me.
So last weekend I showed some of the photos I took while I was away on my Castle Fraser trip/briefing. Today, I am showing the final designs I produced for this brief. Obviously I did have to do sketches and research but because it was a one week brief I kept the majority of my research on Pinterest and only pulled designs I found most inspirational onto the files I was working on. With my sketches I did do a few but I never really went very in-depth with these and more experimented with designs on illustrator.
The next brief I'm doing at college is to create an app for or based on Castle Fraser. We were given our brief for this mini unit on the day we visited Castle Fraser.
I was back to college last week and to basically get us on our feet running, we were given the competition brief called 'Creative Anarchy'. We were given the three days we were in college, and up until till Friday to submit our designs for the competition to our college submission page (the closing date for entries isn't till the 15th October).
Creative Anarchy is a book that is being that is being created to teach about the rules of graphic design and how to go about breaking them. Designs submitted can either be about following the rules or breaking them. The brief also says you can submit designs for posters, logos, web sites, magazines, t-shirts, etc.
When I started of doing the brief I was pretty stuck to be honest. I wasn't really sure in which direction I should go with for the design. However, after doodling and spending a good half hour sitting in the library looking at some atrocious design books, I finally came up with a few designs.
In the end I couldn't really decide which one I preferred so I decided to submit them all. Fingers crossed for it then! Also let me know if you end up entering it as well!
If you would like to enter the competition or just look at the submission guidelines then you can do so here.
