Create 2014

At the beginning and middle of the month I seen a lot of people posting about their personal word for the year or the month. I've been thinking about doing one of these posts for a while now but have never really gotten round to actually writing it up! So here it my word for 2013 *drum roll!!!....*

I actually decided on the word 'create' pretty quickly as a lot of my goals and hopes for this year all slightly revolve around the idea of creating and arty stuff...

I've already written about this in more detail and such but I hope to be more creative and crafty this year. So this one completely makes sense with the word.

Another reason is because I want to create my own online shop properly. I know this was featured in my 2014 Hopes and Resolutions post, but it is something I really want to do. I know I probably won't end up with a lot in my shop but I hope I can add a few more pieces to it, especially during the summer holidays.

This year I want to also create better relationships with people. To be honest, I fell out of touch with a lot of people last year and so I want to kind of 'mend' them. I also want to create better relationships with friends that I have recently had more contact with since school.

Let me know if you have a specific word that you're going to try to live by in 2014.

Weekly Words #33

I have always wanted to be able to contribute things to the world. Most of the time it is by actually creating something. I've seen so many things this week that have been saying to take time for yourself to be creative. Or to take one photo a day. Just imagine how much art and photography there would be if everybody took 15 minutes just to create something and took 1 photo? It would be amazing.

For this weeks quote I wanted to try and create another design using my own hand writing. I think it turned out well what I did, and how I did it but let me know below.

Weekly Words #20

This weeks design for weekly words is inspired by illustrator and painted Oana Befort. I really loved the style of her water coloured paintings of flowers. You should definitely go check out her designs! The quote inspiration for this week has just been something that's been on my mind lately.

Since completing my App Design, I've been in a bit of a creative rut, not a good thing since I've got another design brief to complete for Monday! So I've had a hard past few weeks try to do this. However, I need to just keep experimenting and doing other pieces of art to try and get my creativity back up to speed.

So I hope you like the design below, to sort of 'develop' my skills and such more, some day I might try and do a water colour version of it soon. I've not used water colour properly since being in Secondary School doing my higher art (like a year and a half ago!). So I quite want to practice with it more.

The font I used to create this design is A Gentle Touch by Vanessa Bays.

Weekly Words #12

This weeks Weekly Words are 'Create the things you wish existed'. This quote is so simple but yet it can take a lot of work to do something so simple. But if you want something, or you want to create something you just need to go for it! Something that I think really fits with this quote is the website KickStarter. I've never personally used it but I've seen many designers use it for their work and been successful from it.

The font use is called DK Kwar k and is designed by David Kerkhoff.

I also used colours from the Peachy colour palettes.
